Here you will find the latest news from the Special Educational Needs Tribunal for Wales (SENTW).

Children and young people

From 5 January 2015, all children and young people living in Wales have a right to:

  • appeal certain decisions made by their local authority about their special educational needs
  • bring a claim about disability discrimination against schools.

Please see our page for Young People for more information.

Secure e-mail

The tribunal has introduced new software called ‘Egress Switch’ to help us securely send and receive information by email. This free, easy to use service provides a secure way for the tribunal and its users to share sensitive information whilst ensuring we meet security and data protection requirements. If you communicate with the tribunal by email, read our FAQs to find out how this may affect you.

SENTW Decisions Library now live

A SENTW decision Library has been developed, which currently lists all appeal decisions made during 2010/2011, 2011/2012 and 2012/2013 tribunal years.

All decisions have been anonymised. Each case was considered by SENTW on its individual merits, reflected the law at the time the decision was made, does not create precedent and should not be relied on as such.

The decisions library can be found under the Decisions tab on this website.
